Current owner purchased this wonderful instrument from its previous owner in 1994. Regularly tuned, played and regulated this semi-grand instrument has been taken care of well and is in very good condition.
Built in 1935, a great period of harp making for Lyon & Healy, the harp is richly carved similar to that of the Style 23. It still shows its high French polished varnish done during this era and the burnished pure gold leaf is in fine shape.
The harp is curly maple and gold with no rebuilds or repairs. Recently diagnosed by Jason Azem in December, 2018, the harp looks to be in good structural condition. The mechanism works well, and the soundboard is in good condition. The neck does have some twist to it but not in dire need of replacing yet. The wire string eyelets will require replacing sometime soon however, which a technician can see to if notified prior to a scheduled regulation. The body base frame has minimal movement, also not yet in need of repair.
Style 22 harps are often considered the perfect-sized instrument for resonance and sound. This fabulous instrument with its original sound board has a tone rich and warm throughout and very powerful; reminiscent of harps built during this period.
