LYON & HEALY STYLE 16 GOLD (46) #2610

This unique Lyon & Healy Style 16 Gold, built in 1923, was beautifully restored in 2016 by the Lyon & Healy factory in Chicago. 

Restorations and repairs included a new neck, a re-set to the base and column, action overhaul and some gold leaf restoration. A letter stating all repairs done in available. The harp is considered in excellent condition for its age.

The harp has a big sound, an even tone and a clear, crisp upper register. The look and sound are fantastic. The straight soundboard makes the harp a bit easier to move than a current concert grand. The gilding is a more deeper shade than found on modern gilded harps, giving the harp a period feel.

Asking price includes a dolly, stand, bench, strings, soft cover and tuning key. There is the original shipping trunk available, if interested.

Previously owned by harpist Jack Nebergall, this harp is a wonderful example of  Lyon & Healy's early model craftmanship and impressive sound.

Built in 2018, original owner selling this incredibly well-kept Crescendo 34. The harp is considered in great condition with only a small scratch on the side of the sound box. Full Loveland levers, the sound is really lovely; clear and full. The highly figured Sapele woods is beautiful.

The Crescendo 34 model is a wonderful harp for harpers/harpists of all ages and a great light-weight alternative for gigs and playing with others. The asking price makes this harp excellent for those currently renting and looking for an affordable alternative.

Built in 1977, this lovely Salvi Aurora has been well maintained and serviced regularly.  It has the 

classic Salvi sound, warm and round, characteristic of its era.

Some scrapes on the edges and small dings throughout, normal for a harp of this age. New strings, bass wires installed and regulated by harp technician, Mike Lewis, in October, 2021, the harp is considered in good condition.

LYON & HEALY STYLE 17 (46) #7967

The Style 17, a semi-grand favorite by Lyon & Healy, features similar elements to the larger Style 23 model in a slightly smaller body. This particular harp, built in 1979 for the model's 90th anniversary (note plaque on action plate), was purchased from its previous owner in 1985 and has been well played and cared for ever since.

Past restorations to the instrument include a new neck, tuning pins and repairs to the base bolt bushings, all done by the Lyon & Healy factory in Chicago. The harp has aged quite well with some cosmetic wear, acceptable for a professional instrument of this age. It is tuned regularly and is kept in a smoke-free environment. The sound is quite warm and resonant.

Beautifully detailed gold leaf has been added to the column and base by Lyon & Healy master craftsman, Sydney Lauber, giving the instrument an elegant touch. The harp was last regulated by certified harp technician, Jason Azem in June 2022. Price includes a heavy-duty cover.

This Briggs model harp made by Triplett was custom-made in 1988. It has a robust and large sound box, giving the harp a great open, big sound, deep and resonant. Made of koa wood. The brass levers were installed by Triplett in the late 1990's.

Included is a Triplett blue Sherpa case. The harp was used professionally by the owner for many years. Some scratches on the pillar slight dings on  sound box. A workhorse of a harp in good condition for its age.

Purchased new by its owner in 2017, the Salvi Titan is a well-designed 38 string lever harp with a clear, even tone and a deep, rich bass. 

Sturdy and reliable, the Titan is an ideal instrument for those needing a full 5 octave lever harp. The harp is strung in Silkgut®, a synthetic alternative to gut strings. Silkgut® stretches less than gut so tends to stay in tune for longer periods of time.

The harp is stained in mahogany with ebony detailing giving the harp an elegant feel. It has been tuned and played regularly, being one of the owner's primary gigging instruments.

A few small nicks on the instrument have been lightly touched-up. It is a good, solid harp and is structurally sound. Great for a student or professional harp player.

This beautiful dark walnut FH36B harp with highly-figured cherry soundboard veneer, was purchased new by its owner in 2004. Regularly played, tuned and maintained, this harp is in exceptionally good condition. The tone is is warm and resonant.

The squareback FH36B model was the precursor to the current FH36S staveback model. The FH36B was a popular model known for its large, resonant tone and ease of play.

DUSTY STRINGS FH36S IN KOA #14756 (36)

This beautiful and unique Koa wood FH36S harp was specially-made for its owner in 2013. It is one of the last harps made by the factory using this stunning hardwood known for its deep rich colors and varied grain patterns.* The harp has a lovely full and resonant sound, very clear and bright.

The pillar has a beautiful abalone inlay design of a Celtic knot, and abalone trim surrounds the edges of the soundboard. It has Loveland levers and a factory-installed pick-up is located inside the sound box. This is an impressive harp!

Structurally, the harp is in very good condition with some scratches found on the pillar. The case is also in very good condition. The price includes a custom tuning key and a red deluxe carrying case.

This model is considered the front-runner in the Dusty Strings line of harps.

Purchased new in 2014, this Lyon & Healy Premium model gold Style 8 pedal harp is in showroom, pristine condition.

It was rarely played and still feels brand new. The sound is balanced from low to mid to high range. The harp is meticulously tuned regularly and well-cared for in a climate-controlled surrounding. There is no cartage wear and tear. The gilding is nothing more than immaculate. Due to very little usage, the harp is considered in prime condition.

The harp is gilded in 23+ karat gold-leaf with Bubinga Rosewood veneer and a beautifully hand-painted soundboard. The harp received its warranty regulation in 2017 by certified harp technician, Stephen Hartman. It includes an ergonomic tuning key and a 3-piece transport cover set.

WURLITZER STARKE MODEL ORCHESTRAL PEDAL HARP (47) #1008

Considered built circa 1930s, this beautiful gold Wurlitzer Starke Model Orchestral Grand pedal harp has been the current owner’s instrument since 1962. It was played for performances, recitals and orchestral work. 

In 2012 the harp had a major overhaul at the Lyon & Healy factory in Chicago which included a new neck, action re-revit, baseboard re-fit and gilding touch-up throughout.  

The restoration work done by Lyon & Healy is extensive and the re-gilding is very beautiful. 

The harp has been maintained and tuned regularly. Like many Wurlitzer harps of this era, the sound is rich and resonant and well-balanced across all registers.

Built in 1921, this Style 14 gold pedal harp was played professionally by its current owner for many years before retiring. The sound is warm and resonant. 

In April, 2022, the harp received some well-deserved attention by certified harp technician, Liz Jensen.

It has been fully re-strung with lever gut strings so it has a lighter tension. New bass wires were installed. It received a complete regulation. The mechanism and pedal rods were lubricated, and the original soundboard has been carefully secured allowing for many more years of playing.

Original owner selling their loved Triplett Liberty(28) lever harp purchased new in 1988. This model is the precursor to Triplett's Liberty-30 in production until around 2004. It has a very resonant and clear sound.

The harp was used professionally by the owner for many years and does show several nicks towards the bottom area of the soundboard and small dings on the back of the sound box and base.

WURLITZER GOLD GG MODEL PEDAL HARP (45) #1466

Magnificent, warm, rich, 1930’s jazz era sound. This particular Wurlitzer is very unique in that it has all its original parts and the soundboard is in excellent, playing condition. 

It was not under full tension for most of its life so has been strung with its original string gauges which include special handmade bass wire strings.

Range is 45 strings from low D to high F. This is a perfect pedal harp for someone who wants an easier & lighter string tension on a pedal harp with a big sound or wants that special genuine Wurlitzer tone.

The harp has been checked and regulated by harp technician Mike Lewis. It is currently tuned and being played. The harp is kept along with the owner's other harps in a music room with proper humidity and temperature control.

The harp does have cosmetic smoke damage from the first (previous) owner hence the lower price.

This lightweight Liberty model Zephyr travel harp made by Triplett was designed with size and portability in mind. Such a great little harp for travel and hiking it has a sweet, bright and clear sound.

This harp was built in 1988. There are no sharping levers and it uses zither pins that can only be seen on the left side of the harp. This reduces slip and allows for a more sturdy neck, an important trait for very small harps such as this.

LYON & HEALY SALZEDO (47) PEDAL HARP #13894

This wonderful Lyon & Healy Salzedo model harp was purchased new in 2000 and used extensively with the San Francisco Symphony for more than 15 years, during which time it was played by many professional harpists for concerts and recordings. The voice is impressive with a rich, warm sound. 

Last regulated in January 2020 by certified L&H harp technician Karen Gottlieb, the harp is in very good condition. The neck, body, base and column are structurally and mechanically in very good condition, with no clicking in the rivets. 

As added protection, a brace had been installed inside the sounding board to stabilize any concerns of a slight separation between the 5th octave B and D near the center strip. The sounding board is stable, with no movement and no change in sound since the brace was installed.  

Cosmetically, the harp has been very well-cared for. There are slight marks from playing and a few nicks considered normal for a harp this age used professionally. 

The harp has a larger string spacing for the right hand in the top octaves, which makes it very comfortable to play.

This semi-grand model favorite by Lyon & Healy features similar elements to the larger Style 23 model in a slightly smaller size. 

Built in 1969, the harp has aged well. The sound is very, very good. A classic Lyon & Healy sound; warm and resonant. And it has  more spacing in the upper octaves for the right hand.

The gold is in very good condition except for the base which shows some wear. There are some dings and scratches, acceptable for a harp of this age. The decorated soundboard is worn away in places, possibly due to cleaning. All are considered cosmetic issues however, made evident in the reasonable asking price. 

The harp was last regulated and re-strung by harp technician, Peter Speziale who determined the instrument to have no cracks or damage except for the clay cast of the crown, visible below the gold leaf.

The soundboard is made of birch plywood with spruce veneer; the neck and column are made of Sapele.

LYON & HEALY SPECIAL ANNIVERSARY STYLE 30 (47) #11078

Built in 1989, this really beautiful instrument was created by Lyon & Healy as part of a limited 100th anniversary edition. It has a special Kewazinga rosewood veneer and the soundboard has brass eyelets for all the strings excluding the bass wires. 

The harp has a large, resonant voice. It is in very good condition with various dings and nicks considered normal for its age. Some clicking in the action is apparent. 

Last regulated by Dale Barco. The bass wires are old and should be replaced. A regulation and new bass wires will make this harp sound even better than it already does. 

A fabulous sounding harp at an exceptional price.

This beautiful Lyon & Healy Gold Style 23 purchased new by original owner in 1984 is in near perfect condition. The gold is in excellent shape. There is a slight ding on the soundboard-that's it.

The sound is even and bright and the harp is very easy to play. It was regulated, re-strung and appraised by certified harp technician, Joe Urban, in 2016.

It comes with a wooden LH bench and stand, a canvas cover, tuning key, and a few strings. There is also a sturdy black trunk, if interested (also included in the price).

This is an incredibly well-kept gold harp.

For sale by original owner, this harp is in excellent condition. Built in 2002 the harp has been well cared for, regularly tuned and played. It has a warm, even sound with good response. 

In 2018 the harp received a thorough inspection, a general maintenance regulation, new bass wires and an appraisal by certified harp technician, Karen Gottlieb. It is considered in excellent condition with no problems structurally nor mechanically. Cosmetically, there are very small veneer cracklings near the center strip which in no way effect the structure or sound of the harp.
